Amendoeira all set for World Kids Golf Championship

From 24th – 28th July, 150 junior golfers will once again descend on Amendoeira Golf Resort in the Algarve for the Oceânico World Kids Golf Championship. The event, a firm favourite of the game’s future stars, has a stellar tradition for guaranteeing young golfers a fantastic week to remember and insight into the life of a tour pro. Chris Howell, Chairman of the Oceânico Group, said: “The Oceânico World Kids Golf Championship is always a highlight of the year. We look forward immensely to welcoming some of the game’s brightest young talent and making it a week to remember for everyone involved”.

Home to two 18 hole Championship layouts, the O’Connor Jnr Course, and the Faldo Course, recently named ‘Portugal’s Best’ by the World Golf Awards, the week at Amendoeira offers golfers aged between 7 and 18 the chance compete over three competition rounds. With state of the art practice facilities, dedicated player lounges and access to the courses for practice rounds prior to the start of competition, the players are made to feel like stars. The Oceânico World Kids Championship places great emphasis on ensuring that the week-long experience is fully enjoyed by everyone in attendance and families are encouraged to attend and support the youngsters while enjoying the resort’s first class facilities. Plenty will be going on off the course with discounted rates provided for relatives to take advantage of the facilities and activities such as tennis, relaxing by the pool or exploring the area’s stunning countryside location.

The event takes place in late July but time is running short for registration and the chance to sample a taste of the big time. Entry fees range from €125 to €270 for four rounds of golf, tee prizes, tickets to opening and closing ceremonies as well as lunch on the three tournament days. For non-players there are special tournament rates across the range of luxury accommodation and for information on these as well as age categories, entry requirements and the various options for players and families visit the event homepage at
