Algarvian professional golfer Sara Gouveia will be among the 84 players competing in the second edition of the Super Bock Ladies Open at Vidago Palace, taking place from October 20 to 22 (Tuesday to Thursday) in Vidago, near Chaves, in northern Portugal.
Selected by the Portuguese Golf Federation (FPG), Sara will return to competition on the European professional golf circuit. A former national amateur runner-up, she has also competed occasionally on the Spanish professional circuit, the Santander Golf Tour, and currently works as a golf coach at Quinta do Lago.
Organised by the FPG, the tournament returns to Vidago Palace Golf Course for the second consecutive year, bringing together some of Europe’s leading female professional golfers.
The FPG has also announced increased investment from Turismo do Porto e Norte de Portugal, supporting its commitment to developing women’s golf and bringing professional and amateur competitions to inland regions of Portugal.
Alongside Sara Gouveia, the Portuguese players taking part include professional Sofia Barroso Sá and amateurs Francisca Ferreira da Costa, the current national champion, and Laura Santos, aged just 14, who recently won the FPG-BPI Cup.

A three-time national champion and two-time Federation Cup winner, Sofia Barroso Sá represented the Portuguese national team and played for Texas Christian University (TCU) in the USA. She reached 135th place in the World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR) and competed in two Ladies European Tour events in 2025, finishing 30th at the Tenerife Women’s Open and 40th at the Tipsport Czech Ladies Open. She made her debut on the Ladies European Tour Access Series (LETAS) in July 2026 at the Women’s Irish Challenge near Dublin.
Ahead of the main competition, a Pro-Am event will take place on Sunday, October 18, bringing together amateur and professional golfers. The day will also feature a Kids Pro-Am and golf activities for children, with around 50 young participants from golf clubs across northern Portugal.
The Super Bock Ladies Open is part of the Ladies European Tour Access Series (LETAS) and is the third-to-last event of the season. The tournament will offer a total prize fund of €50,000, with players aiming to progress to the main Ladies European Tour in 2027.
