Quinta do Lago welcomed players from across Europe for a week of golf, social events and fundraising
– January 20, 2026

Quinta do Lago resort welcomed 63 teams to this year’s edition of the Algarvian Charity Pro-Am tournament, which continues to grow on the European Pro-Am calendar. A total of 252 players took part, with professionals competing in a stroke play format alongside amateur partners.
Golf was played across five rounds, with four days on Quinta do Lago’s courses and one round hosted at Ombria Algarve. As is now part of the event’s character, the week balanced competitive golf with a relaxed programme of social gatherings.

The Algarvian Charity Pro-Am has steadily evolved into a lifestyle-led event, blending competitive golf with hospitality and dining. This year’s tournament generated an estimated €250,000 in economic impact, driven by accommodation, golf and restaurant visits.

With charity at the heart of the tournament, this year, €10,000 was raised for APATRIS – the Algarve Association for People with Trisomy 21 – continuing the event’s long-standing support for local causes.
Most players travelled to the Algarve specifically for the tournament, staying at Quinta do Lago throughout the week. They were joined by teams made up of resort members, helping to create a friendly, social atmosphere both on and off the course.

Following another successful edition, the Algarvian Charity Pro-Am will return to Quinta do Lago from January 10 to 16, 2027.
“By hosting initiatives such as the Algarvian Charity Pro-Am, Quinta do Lago strengthens its positioning as a world-class golf destination, capable of attracting international events that combine sport, hospitality, economic impact and social responsibility,” says Sean Moriarty, CEO of Quinta do Lago.
