Vale do Lobo Open Foursomes Week returns May 24–30

Vale do Lobo resort welcomes golfers from around the world for the 42nd Open Foursomes Week, taking place from May 24-30, an event known for its friendly competition and camaraderie. According to the organisers, this is one of the most anticipated and enjoyable events on the Algarve’s golfing calendar, bringing returning players and new faces together.

Golfers will compete in pairs whislt enjoying the views at one of the region’s most prestigious golf courses.

The event’s long-standing tradition and welcoming atmosphere have already inspired generations of golfers to compete, and continues to build on that heritage, whilst the resort’s Junior Golf Academy helps develop the next generation of players.

Alongside the Open Foursomes Week, the Junior Golf Academy will run a special camp from May 25-29, where young players will receive 10 hours of instruction spread across five days, combining technical learning with the chance to build confidence and enjoy the sport.

Many of the children and teenagers who take part in academy go on to play against their parents on the Vale do Lobo fairways. Coaching plays an important role in developing future competitors for the Open Foursomes.

For players of all ages looking to improve their game, Vale do Lobo offers practice facilities in addition to its two 18-hole courses. There is also a range of coaching options available. On site, players can find a golf shop for equipment and clothing, as well as a clubhouse with a relaxed atmosphere, including the SMASH restaurant and SMASH Sports Bar.

“Golf at Vale do Lobo is about much more than performance. We celebrate the enjoyment players derive from the game and the outstanding opportunity for social connections that it provides. Foursomes Week is the pinnacle of this, bringing together golfers from across the world to share in their passion for the invaluable social side of the game. The friendly format supports participation across the Vale do Lobo community – it’s one of our most anticipated events of the year,” shared Hernâni Estêvão, managing director at Vale do Lobo.
