Golf tour operators across the globe picked the Vilamoura resort as their favourite for “outstanding customer service”

Dom Pedro Golf Vilamoura received the “Golf Resort of the Year” award from the International Association of Golf Travel Operators. This is the resort’s first recognition since DETAILS took over its management.
A total of 660 golf tour operators around the world voted for the best golf courses, resorts, and destinations that provided outstanding customer service, with the Algarve resort holding off a challenge from several of Portugal’s most established golf properties.
The award reinforces the “commitment” that Arrow Global’s hospitality, sports, and leisure management have demonstrated at the Dom Pedro Golf & Hotels Collection in Vilamoura since its acquisition last year.
As a result of the recent change in management, DETAILS has set its sights on establishing Dom Pedro Golf Vilamoura among the industry’s elite as “one of Europe’s finest leisure resorts”, with new and significant developments “currently in progress”, such as the Old Course, designed by Frank Pennink. The course is the second oldest in Portugal, and has already undergone significant changes in a bid to “attract premium golfers to the tee boxes of this esteemed golf destination”.
The Dom Pedro Golf Vilamoura golf resort provides guests with easy access to multiple golf facilities within a 4km radius of each other – the Victoria, Laguna, Millenium and Pinhal courses. The Victoria golf course, which hosted the European Tour’s Portugal Masters between 2007 and 2022, is currently closed and undergoing renovation before re-opening in 2025.
“Dom Pedro Golf Vilamoura has always been a standout resort in a region blessed with more than its fair share of stunning venues. There are ambitious plans afoot, but we recognised that the resort is already in the top drawer when it comes to sophisticated, 360 facilities and hospitality,” said Peter Walton, CEO of the International Association of Golf Travel Operators.

In the Algarve, the Dom Pedro portfolio also includes the Dom Pedro Portobelo, Dom Pedro Marina and Dom Pedro Vilamoura hotels, as well as the Pinhal, Laguna and Millenium golf courses, all of which fall under the management expertise of DETAILS.
DETAILS has shared that over the next two years, there will be “many more developments planned, all to be announced in due course”.
