On the final Sunday of the 2014 US Masters, two amateur golfers were also playing although not in Augusta but at the Gypsum Creek Golf Course, Colorado. Fred Kessler and Dan Eby combined to defy odds of 17 million to one when achieving consecutive aces. Fred scored a hole-in-one at the 130-metre, par 3, 17th only to be followed immediately afterwards by playing partner Dan who did the same! Afterwards, and without even a hint of irony, a slightly dazed Fred modestly tried to explain his delight. “It was my first round of the year and I honestly didn’t expect much.”
