Hugo Santos secured his win on Thursday, November 21, in the Pro-Am of the Timestamp Golf Tour Final by PGA National, the sixth and final event of the 2025 national professional circuit, sanctioned by the Portuguese Golf Federation (FPG) and PGA Portugal. The tournament was held on Course No. 2 at the PGA Aroeira, a venue that has previously hosted the Ladies European Tour’s Portugal Open.

Santos played “brilliantly”, scoring 7 birdies and leading his team to a final score of 27-under par. He played alongside amateurs José Correia (former president of PGA Portugal), Ricardo Bruno, and Paulo Francisco (both former sponsors of the PGA Portugal Tour).

“It’s always good to come back to Aroeira,” said the 2012 national champion. “The course was in good condition, considering the weather we’ve had over the last few days. I’d also like to thank my team – they were all very good. I had some good moments and some not so good moments, but the team took care of those periods and my partners supported me well,” he concluded.

Santos, who now also coaches at Vilamoura Golf Club, finished one shot ahead of Portugal’s No. 1 golfer, Ricardo Melo Gouveia.

Gouveia, the Portuguese star, secured second place at 26-under par, playing alongside amateurs Frederico Morais, Gustavo Ribeiro, and António Félix da Costa, the well-known racing driver.

Gouveia achieved a top-15 finish at Rolex Series event on the DP World Tour, in Dubai this year. Although he is set to travel to Australia shortly to compete in the opening tournament of the 2026 DP World Tour, he made a point of participating in the Aroeira event to support the Timestamp Golf Tour. This marks his second appearance on the 2025 circuit; he also won the Pro-Am of the National Professional Championship in Troia in July, in a team featuring actor Lourenço Ortigão.

The event saw nearly all of Portugal’s leading professionals participating, including Susana Ribeiro, Ricardo Melo Gouveia, Ricardo Santos, Pedro Figueiredo, Tomás Melo Gouveia, Tomás Bessa, Pedro Lencart, and Vasco Alves. The only high-profile absence was Daniel da Costa Rodrigues, who will be in the United States competing in the Final Stage of PGA Tour Qualifying School, having recently excelled in the Final Stage of DP World Tour Qualifying School.

The tournament also marked the professional debut of Miguel Azevedo Cardoso, a university student who was Portugal’s No. 2 amateur in 2024 and 2025, and last year became the national amateur champion.

At the closing ceremony of the Pro-Am, attended by Alexandra Gonçalves (PGA National Aroeira) and Alexandre Abreu (PGA Portugal), two skills awards were also presented: Fernando Santos won nearest the pin and Henrique Ferreira claimed longest drive.
