Party balloons celebrating 50 years of golf were seen in the Algarve sky and so too were special drones capturing some of the courses from above. The new footage contains spectacular bird’s eye views of all the region’s courses with dramatic visuals of some of the finest holes in golf. These events are part of the festivities marking the 50th anniversary. Staff from the golf industry – including golf directors, greenkeepers and reception staff – recently joined together to celebrate the 50 years of success. A new website www.visitgolfalgarve50years.com has also been launched and features a history of the Algarve including the birth of golf in 1966 up to the present. There are fabulous images from down the years and information on each of the courses. The website is also where golfers can enter the Golden Tees Challenge for the chance to win 50 green fees throughout 2017. Manuel Delgado e Silva, ATA golf product manager, said: “We love a party in the Algarve, and to celebrate our special 50th birthday with so many friends and colleagues from our golf industry was a truly memorable experience, and we thank them all personally for their contribution in making the Algarve Europe’s leading golf destination.”
