Quinta do Lago residents recently raised 100,000 to help purchase a state-of-the-art dream bus for a leading Portuguese children’s charity. Over 100 golfers participated in the annual event for Refúgio Aboim Ascensão to raise money for vulnerable children. The money raised in just three years totalled 230,000 enabling the organisers to purchase the bus. Rosie Sunderland, an event organiser, described the generosity as “truly amazing” while Nuno Gonçalves, director of golf, praised the “strong sense of community at Quinta do Lago” which has made this magnificent achievement possible.
