The Algarve’s Espiche Golf Club is this year hosting the first Living Golf For Peace tournament. The event is in recognition of the Olympic role of golf as a means to reduce conflict by supporting the official UN-backed Olympic Truce planned for later this summer. The competition further aims to support implementation of the UN Global Sustainable Development Goals where global peace is now recognised as a priority for a sustainable world economy. More details and information on registration are available on the Living Golf website and at franz@livinggolf.com for Franz Rollnick (tournament details and registration) and also from Gordon Sillence of Olympic Truce Peace Campaign at gordon.destinet@ecotrans.de. The event promises to be a great success with organisers anticipating that it will further a genuinely noble cause in the true Olympic spirit.
