Monte Rei Golf & Country Club has announced an exciting new partnership with the Royal Dutch Golf Federation (NGF) and is to serve as a base for the Dutch national team’s winter training. The partnership with Monte Rei is a fitting addition to the NGF’s new top-level sport strategy and national coach Maarten Lafeber plans intensive training including winter programmes in southern European locations for the Dutch team and NGF coaches and which will include Monte Rei.
A delighted David Shepherd, Director of Golf at Monte Rei has conveyed pride at this latest development. “‘We are very proud of our practice facilities at Monte Rei and we feel that it will be very beneficial for the best Dutch professionals and amateur players through the winter months. At this level of golf players are looking for every opportunity to gain an advantage and with great practice facilities, a Jack Nicklaus Signature Design golf course and the perfect all year round Portuguese climate, it will really help their players gain that edge”.
The attraction of Monte Rei for all levels of golfers reflects the Algarve club’s superb course and its reputation as a quality location with practice and coaching facilities of a professional standard.
