Silves Internacional Clube de Golfe (SICG) and the Serra de Monchique club, both based at Silves, raised over €6,000 at their charity day. There were 100 players and everyone worked jointly for worthy causes and in particular to support Monica the daughter of Pestana staff member, Fatima Josefa. Monica has a degenerative eye condition and benefits from support from boarding school in Lisbon and there’s hope that new drug trials will lead to further progress. Pestana ‘donated’ the course on the day and all staff provided a terrific service on and off the course. Sponsors also ensured that the day was both enjoyable and highly successful.
