Golfing great launches innovative concept in “worldwide golf”

Zyngolf is an exciting concept just launched by Christy O’Connor Jnr at Oceânico’s Amendoeira Golf Resort in the Algarve. Interestingly, the name Zyngolf has its origins in a movie, Hotel Transylvania, where the term “zing” means a “love for life” and so, being entirely appropriate for the love of golf, the name Zyngolf was born.

Zyngolf gives golfers across the world the chance to compete online and, at last week’s launch, golfing great Christy O’Connor Jnr praised the Zyngolf innovation as “simple but brilliant”.

Such confidence from a golfing legend reflects the beauty of a concept where members compete at their home course anywhere in the world and enter scores on the Zyngolf website. At the end of the season, stage winners and the top ranking players win an all-expenses-paid trip to compete in the Zyngolf Worldwide Cup.

Over the year, golfers participate in the Race to Portugal for the chance of playing in the final event and which this year takes place in early November at the Oceânico Amendoeira Golf Resort.
Zyngolf’s sophisticated technology is impressive, with real time scoring information, members’ interaction on a global scale and smartphone compatibility just some of the features designed to guarantee success. The website also provides a place for global members to connect and enjoy attractive benefits and privileges while golf clubs can showcase their courses and facilities internationally to Zyngolf members.

Gerry Fagan, Zyngolf Chairman, predicts that “Zyngolf will become an established feature for competitive golfers”, adding that “Zyngolf honours will be coveted by golfers across the world”.

Exciting Zyngolf events are also planned for 2016 including a major in the USA and another in Europe.
