The Algarve marks 50 golden years of golf by introducing special ‘Golden Tees’. From June, all of the region’s courses will feature golden tee markers in recognition of it being 50 years since the first Algarve course was opened in 1966 at Penina. Golfers can mark this milestone by playing from the golden tees for a chance to register on a special website and an opportunity to win 50 green fees. One lucky winner will collect 50 golden green fees for the Algarve’s fantastic courses during 2017. President of the Algarve Tourism Association, Carlos Luis, said: “We are honoured to be able to mark the 50th anniversary of golf. It should be a golden year for the Algarve.”
